Trip to the Azores, History and fighting with Bulls
You can see street bull runs (but I didn’t it was too late) from Mai to October, known as Tourada à corda. The good thing is that the bulls are not killed, instead they get the chance to kill or at least to hurt some people (YouTube). Looks like the people of the Azores like there bulls. Maybe it is connected to the stampede of cattle towards Castilian troops during the Battle of Salga a strategy used by the famous Brianda Pereira during the War of the Portuguese Succession. So you see some bull monuments and bulls in the grassland.
Safety instruction: don’t play with them, they are trained to catch tourists (especially Spanish ones).
