Trip to the Azores, Algar do Carvão

An impressive part of the nature park of Terceira  is a volcano vent, Algar do Carvão, located nearby the sulphur fields of “Furnas do Enxofre“. This geological hotspots is part of the Guilherme Moniz caldera. Especially impressive because you can walk into a volcanic vent, depending on the weather conditions (a lake forms in the vent which disappears even during dryness).
